Jô Oliveira, born in 1944 in Itamaracà, in northeastern Brazil, studied graphic arts, illustration and design in Rio de Janeiro and Budapest.
He has lived in Brasilia since 1978 and divides his energies between visual communications supporting programs for the development of agriculture and a prolific production of comics and illustrations for children's books and for adults (in addition to the series of colorful postage stamps that won him international acclaim and numerous awards).
