Authors in Italy: Barnes Doumerc
Ayax Barnes, a prominent graphic artist, was born in Argentina in 1926 and died in Barcelona in 1993.
In addition to numerous works of editorial and advertising illustration (first in Argentina and Uruguay and from 1977 in Italy and then Spain), he devoted his energies to the creation of images of all kinds for children, many of which were used to illustrate the children's books written by his wife, Beatriz Doumerc, winner of some of the most prestigious awards for children's books in Spanish.
The vast array of graphic games and other drawings left by Barnes are managed with great care by Beatriz, who adapts them to the needs of new publications, especially to illustrate a series of stories she writes for the PIMPA monthly magazine.
