Giuseppe Coco was born in 1936 in Biancavilla (Catania).
He lived and worked in Milan from 1960 to 1997 (when he returned to Sicily).
He has been the most popular Italian cartoonist, syndicated in newspapers all over the world. Along with about twenty thousand cartoons in black and white and a thousand in color, he has produced numerous illustrations for texts and advertising campaigns and is a critically acclaimed though not widely known painter.
His books include: “I satiri”, “E' grave, dottore?” “Vip, costumi e scostumi”, his greatest successes, also published in France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Portugal.
He has won some of the most prestigious international comic awards and has produced about a hundred painted boards inspired by the Milan underground, which have never been published or exhibited.
